As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from defining the vision to managing delivery and stakeholder communication. Your role will be crucial in translating business objectives into actionable development tasks, ensuring that product features are delivered on time and meet the highest standards of quality. You will collaborate closely with development teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure that the product aligns with user needs and company goals.
The Product Owner will join the Technology & Innovation Department, a dynamic team at the forefront of BCE’s digital transformation. This department drives the organization’s technology strategy, focusing on innovation, scalability, and efficiency across media workflows and Media-as-a-Service platform. The team includes experts in architecture, data, security, and emerging technologies, working collaboratively to deliver cutting-edge solutions that align with BCE’s strategic goals. With a strong emphasis on cloud, AI, and media technologies, this team plays a critical role in shaping the future of broadcasting and digital services at BCE.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to define and maintain a clear product vision aligned with user needs, market trends, and business goals.
- Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing features and requirements to reflect current business priorities and ensuring it is up-to-date and actionable.
- Identify and define product features, prioritizing them based on customer feedback, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
- Lead sprint planning meetings, working closely with development teams to ensure tasks are clearly defined and timelines are met.
- Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of product goals, user stories, and features to guarantee smooth and efficient product delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication regarding product progress, timelines, and potential changes.
- Regularly gather customer feedback and analyze it to improve product features and address user needs.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure all deliverables meet the company’s quality standards before release.
- Take ownership of specific product lines within the company’s portfolio, ensuring they meet business objectives, user satisfaction, and long-term growth goals.
- Represent the product and company at industry exhibitions and events and present the product roadmap to stakeholders and customers.
- Write and maintain product documentation, including user guides and technical specifications, and provide support for call for tenders, including responding to requests and participating in reviews.
- Liaise with the Sales team to help develop pricing models and support the Marketing team with product-related content, such as articles, use cases, and other promotional material.
- Ensure all assigned product deliverables are completed on time and meet the agreed-upon scope and quality standards.
- Maintain consistent and transparent communication with stakeholders and development teams to manage expectations.
- Continuously evaluate and refine product features and processes based on client feedback and evolving market needs.
- Proactively identify risks and challenges in product delivery and work to mitigate them.
- Provide regular updates and reports on product progress, including sprint outcomes, feature status, and backlog priorities, to the Head of Product and relevant stakeholders.
Profile
- Strong understanding of product management principles and experience managing the full product lifecycle.
- Familiarity with media workflows, broadcasting technologies, or digital services is a significant advantage.
- Understanding of agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and proficiency in managing product backlogs and sprint planning.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar project management software.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including clients, developers, QA teams, and business leaders.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire collaboration, and maintain alignment toward shared goals.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to work across disciplines.
