Luxembourg’s renowned ING Night Marathon witnessed exceptional live coverage this year. BCE, equipped with its state-of-the-art Outside Broadcast Van, a dedicated production team as well as live motocams tracking the lead runners, captured and globally shared the marathon’s thrilling moments.

This comprehensive coverage, including race filming, live editing, and direct streaming to RTL Lëtzebuerg‘s website, showcased the event’s excitement.

In addition to online streaming, BCE displayed live coverage on screens strategically placed throughout the venue, allowing participants, families, and supporters to closely follow the race and immerse themselves in the vibrant marathon atmosphere.

BCE’s production team was actively involved in both the production and post-production processes of the Kinnekswiss Loves festival, which unfolded in the heart of Luxembourg City on June 30th, July 1st, and 2nd, 2023, celebrating the fusion of music and culture. The live video streams were showcased on the public screen throughout the event, and the concert itself was later broadcast on RTL Lëtzebuerg on July 8th.

This edition featured the renowned Stewart Copeland, acclaimed drummer and founder of The Police, gracing the stage alongside the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and the Luxembourg Military Band, among other captivating performances.

BCE implemented a studio for the opening of the Schueberfouer

BCE’s production team was in Luxembourg City to celebrate the opening of the Schueberfouer 2023, the biggest funfair of Luxembourg. The team established a studio right within the fairgrounds to facilitate a captivating live streaming.

In readiness for the event, the Outside Broadcast van was equipped to support the live streaming on Fouer TV, RTL Lëtzebuerg website, RTL play and Facebook on August 24th, promising a three-hour program from 3 to 6 p.m., offering viewers an immersive experience of the festivities.

This collaborative effort between BCE’s production team and Fouer TV aimed to bring the vibrant and dynamic atmosphere of the Schueberfouer 2023 directly to the screens of audiences, ensuring a lively and engaging stream capturing the essence of this iconic Luxembourgish funfair.

BCE produced Das Blaue Sofa

BCE ensured the production and live broadcast of the “Blaue Sofa” event featuring Christopher Clark. The event took place on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the German-French-Luxembourg Cultural Institute, Pierre Werner, in Luxembourg. BCE effectively managed the entire production and broadcasting on Chamber TV, ensuring widespread access.

The event commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Pierre Werner Institute, the 175th anniversary of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, and the “1848 Revolutioun zu Lëtzebuerg” exhibition at the Luxembourg National Archives. During this occasion, Christopher Clark introduced his latest book, “Frühling der Revolution. Europa 1848/49 und der Kampf für eine neue Welt” (DVA), which was released on September 27, 2023. This was done through an engaging lecture and discussion held on the “Blaue Sofa.”

BCE covered the Skoda Tour 2023

BCE played a pivotal role as the host broadcaster for the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg 2023, using our expertise and cutting-edge technology to facilitate live coverage and streaming services. Through BCE’s playout services, cycling enthusiasts worldwide enjoyed real-time race coverage, broadcast live and accessible on local and international sports networks, such as Eurosports and L’Équipe.

A noteworthy challenge arose during Stage 3 at Vianden Castle. BCE tackled this by cabling the castle, deploying high antennas, and employing circling planes for transmission. Despite spatial constraints, BCE ensured seamless production and distribution, underscoring the collaborative effort that contributed to the success of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg 2023.

Freecaster covered Louis Vuitton fashion shows

Louis Vuitton has consistently chosen Freecaster (BCE) as its trusted Streaming service provider for globally renowned fashion shows. Before the Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 fashion show in Hong Kong Bay on November 30, 2023, Freecaster collaborated closely with Louis Vuitton teams, coordinating on-site fiber connections, engaging in technical discussions with video production, and ensuring a robust infrastructure for the event.

Freecaster managed the final streaming and broadcast, overseeing the reception of video streams, antenna coordination for global audiences, and live broadcasting on various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Weibo, Naver, and Tencent.

To achieve this, Freecaster designed a comprehensive broadcast and livestreaming system on the cloud, utilizing AWS services and the SRT protocol. This system efficiently managed reception, encoding, and broadcasting of video sources, as well as the distribution of recorded media to diverse audiences.

A dedicated team of 3 streaming engineers from Freecaster was deployed on-site to ensure the seamless execution of the streaming broadcast. In addition to online streaming, Freecaster broadcasted the fashion show on two giant screens in the bustling streets of Hong Kong, enhancing the overall audience experience.

The success of this project is attributed to the effective technical architecture, real-time coordination, and global reach. This resulted in smooth, high-quality streaming across various platforms.

Freecaster achieved an outstanding 93 million views during the live show on Chinese platforms, underscoring the project’s success and the broad reach achieved.

NEWS: BCE and RTL Collaborate for Comprehensive Papal Visit Coverage

BCE and RTL Lëtzebuerg successfully delivered live global coverage of the Papal visit to Luxembourg, showcasing cutting-edge technology and seamless coordination.

With 120 technicians, 50 cameras, and advanced infrastructure, key moments were captured across multiple locations, including the Cathédrale Notre-Dame and the Palais Grand-Ducal. A centralized production model at Place Guillaume II ensured efficient signal transmission via fiber optics, complemented by 5G redundancy for uninterrupted streaming.

Strategic partnerships with local and international experts contributed to the event’s success, with BCE managing live broadcasts, satellite distribution, and multi-language streaming.
